  • What is a reasonable loop delay in autonomous mode?

We found that our autonomous code was lacking a delay in the main loop.
This caused problems at the competition in Traverse City.

Now that we believe that there should be a delay in the loop, we are wondering what is a reasonable delay.

Our loop usually starts the motors and then watches the gyro readings to determine how many degrees that we have turned.

I believe that we should wait as long as possible to relieve the load on the processor. Can someone suggest a reasonable delay?

    Thanks

We've used 10ms with good success. This is the same rate at which the periodic tasks runs at.

We use 5ms since that is the update rate of the Jaguars.
