  • How to customize the data sent to the Dashboard?

We are using C++ to program our robot and sending data to the dashboard. In our C++ code we understand how to send our own data to the dashboard. However, we are having difficulty figuring out how to customize the 'DashBoardDataType' cluster in the LabView block diagram for the dashboard. My best guess is that this is a "constant cluster" that we need to re-define/re-structure and possibly change some of the "unpack-from-string" blocks but I can't figure out how to edit it. Can anyone help us out or point out a tutorial on this?

    Thanks!

I know that I've reviewed a tutorial on this, but I don't have a setup to tell you where to find it.

My quick version would be to right click on the constant and select the menu item to Open the Typedef... The typedef allows the type definition to be kept in sync multiple places in the LV code. Once open, you can add new types by selecting them from the controls palette and placing them in the cluster. Save/close once added to update the program.
