Are there any LabVIEW VIs to simplify the use of CAN?
I am surprised that there is nothing in the WPI library.
I love the idea of the CAN control but if we need to write our own library that sends the commands (which I have yet to find somewhere) via RS232 than we might stay with PWM control.

    Re: LabVIEW VIs

I had a thread going about the use of CAN (and its emulation).
Unfortunately, it was posted in the 2009 Control System Forums, which USFIRST recently deleted.

I haven't looked into the format for actually *sending* the CAN messages, however, I can give you a template for the different messages and formatting them into a CAN message and an arbitration ID.

    (I'll reply soon)

Well, I haven't finished the Jaguar configuration VIs, or the system messages.
However, here's templates for all the motor control VIs:

Have you followed the CAN link on the FIRST control system page?

          Thanks for mentioning that!
