Slow Robot Linking (or, Where Did You Bury the WGA?)

Some people seem to have forgotten that the WGA600N is a radio and needs to be located where its signals stand a chance of getting to and from the field wireless access point (located at the scoring table). If you bury your WGA deep in the bottom of your robot, or attach it behind the power distribution board, you should expect to have problems linking up and with intermittent control loss on the field.

At the NJ regional one team had mounted their WGA in the bottom of their chassis and it took about 90 seconds to link up. When they moved it up high on their robot it took about 20~30 seconds to link.

Locating the WGA adjacent to major noise sources like motors and speed controllers is also asking for trouble.
