  • Interactive Cargo Connect scoresheet

I've been publishing this interactive tool for Quebec's french FLL teams for the past years. Again this year, I've made available an english version.

    Meet the Cargo Connect scoresheet.

It's basically an interactive scoresheet for this year challenge, Cargo Connect, that works on any mobile, tablet or desktop device (responsive design). In addition to the scoresheet, I've included all the missions descriptions. Just click/tap on the ? box next to the mission title and voila! It's really intuitive to use and the kids just loves it.

I've also added a timer for your test run (with official sounds !).

Have a great 2021 FLL season.

P.S. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions

We also made a scoresheet for the Cargo Connect Season available here: https://coda.io/@pandapower/fll-carg...ing-calculator

In addition to the standard rubric for tasks, we've also included a Container Arrangement Toolkit to help you better understand where you can place the containers to score for M15 and M16.

      Hello Alex,

Your scoresheet looks like a very useful tool, thank you for sharing it publicly. A couple of observations:

For Mission M04 Transportation Journey, your scoresheet gives a bonus of 30 for both truck and airplane over their blue lines, but I think the bonus should be 10, for a maximum score of 30 for the mission.

For Mission M06 Accident Avoidance, your scoresheet gives 20 for parking plus 30 for knocking down the yellow panel, but I think it should be one or the other (parked with yellow panel not knocked down, or parked with yellow panel knocked down), for a maximum score of 30 for the mission.

That would give an overall maximum possible score of 680 rather than 720, if I've interpreted these correctly.

Thanks, you are correct. The scoresheet has been fixed. Thanks a lot for your input and your good eyes.

Here is my score sheet: https://ostermiller.org/fll/cargo-connect.html

This is the first year that there is an official score calculator! https://remotehub.firstinspires.org/scoresheet

I linked to all the other score sheets mentioned here in the links at the bottom of mine.

I tested my score sheet against the official score sheet. There are two places they differ:
          • The official score sheet shows an error for the air drop mission if your food package is separated and you have food in your circle but it isn't marked that both teams have separated their food. This is a good (and correct) error message and I should implement something like it on mine if I get the time.
          • The official score sheet allows you to score points for the chicken statue even if the large delivery (turbine blade) hasn't been made. I think this is a bug in the official score sheet. My reading of the rules is that the turbine blade must be in place to score points for the chicken statue. There is the word "and" at the end of the turbine blade bullet point. Also the mission description describes delivering the turbine blade without hitting the statue.

But the AND at the end of the bullet is for the two scoring conditions of the turbine (AND the mat, AND nothing else). The chicken scoring appears to be separate - at least that's how my kids are interpreting it since the chicken scoring is a separate bullet point and separate pictures, with no cumulative scoring listed in the mission description in the Robot Game Rulebook.

That sounds reasonable to me. The chicken model is positioned such that it is in the way for several missions, so I can see why the rules might give points for keeping it upright and in place for the entire match. I've removed the restriction from my calculator. It looks like if your robot breaks down and can't do anything during the match you get 60 points: 50 precision and 10 chicken points.

Agree. The wording (or formatting) could have been better, and astute FLL Rule Readers certainly saw that "AND". But I have yet to find a calculator that ties the chicken portion to the turbine portion. I agree with melitami, that the turbine's "and" is a conjunction to the two scoring options for the turbine "the mat" or "nothing else". It does not combine it to the chicken mission text below it.
